RE community gathers to cheer Ashleigh Johnson '12 on to Olympic gold

Former teammates, teachers, coaches and friends gathered at Spasso Friday afternoon to cheer Ashleigh Johnson '12 to a gold medal in the Olympic women's water polo final against Italy.

Johnson and her U.S. teammates capped a dominant run in Rio de Janeiro with a 12-5 victory, then celebrated by jumping in the pool with Coach Adam Krikorian. Head of School Penny Townsend, Interim Athletic Director Andy De Angulo and a crowd of several dozen enjoyed the game with fans and longtime friends of Johnson. NBC6 and the Miami Herald chronicled the Watch Party.
