RE sails to third place in home SAISA regatta

Ransom Everglades finished third at the South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association regatta on Biscayne Bay Jan. 14 as the school's junior varsity squad earned a first place in the JV division. The regatta, the fifth district event of the season, attracted two dozen schools from around the state.
Tucker Weed '18, Maddie Sharp '18 and McLeod Kennedy '19 led RE's varsity squad to a first-place tie after the first race but slipped to third after the second. Gulliver claimed the victory, topping H.B. Plant High from Tampa. Westminster Christian finished fourth, and Coral Shores High, fifth. 

The junior varsity team of Javier Garςon '21 and Jacob Wolfe '21 dominated the JV regatta, winnng both races easily. Oxbridge Academy of West Palm Beach, Dunedin High, H.B. Plant and St. Thomas Aquinas High in Fort Lauderdale rounded out of the top five. Adam Kaplan '21 and Leo Menninger '18 won the JV "B" division races. RE's teams competed under Captain Joseph L. Logan III.
