Looking forward to a year of connection

Walking around the upper school campus in recent days, it has been easy to see the herculean efforts of our facilities team and construction crews. Buildings have been freshly painted, new plantings have taken root, and I have watched the La Brisa lawn go from muddy brown to a patchwork green as thousands of pieces of sod have been placed.

  • An engaged and energetic community

    Rachel Rodriguez
Over the last month, I have continued to enjoy a productive and fulfilling summer on our campuses. Time spent in recent days with many colleagues, including our new Head of the Middle School Eric Boberg, Executive Director of College Counseling Jason Locke and Director of College Counseling Patrick Tassoni, has been inspiring, reminding me of what I loved about my first 16 years at RE. Members of our community are fully engaged and excited about the fall. Their energy is truly infectious.

  • New leaders on campus

Yet, in some ways the campus itself is a new journey and a wonderful adventure.

  • Returning to Ransom Everglades

    Rachel Rodriguez
I’m thrilled to be writing as the new Interim Head of School. I stress the word interim because I am here to ease the transition for this remarkable institution. I didn’t hesitate when I was asked to help.

I know many of you well from my time at the middle school, and I cannot wait to get back to helping your children learn, grow and achieve. For our newer families who don’t know me, I spent 16 years at RE with my last 14 as Head of the Middle School and part of the school’s leadership team. My husband, Jose, and I have two sons who attended RE, Christopher ’10, and Alec ’14. Put simply, Ransom Everglades has long been an extremely important part of my life and my family’s life.
