    LASA donates more than 250 pairs of shoes

    Students in the Latin American Student Association and Volunteer Service Council conducted a three-day shoe drive in March, accepting donations from RE families during morning drop-off. Students collected 256 pairs of new or lightly worn shoes that they shared with Soles4Souls, specifically directing the RE's donations to Latin America.     HealthcaRE club helps meet need for diapers

    The HealthcaRE club, which seeks to promote student wellness, collected more than 3,000 diapers and 4,000 baby wipes from February 10-12 for the Miami Diaper Bank, a local non-profit organization committed to relieving the need for diapers and diaper-related products during the pandemic. Amanda Harris '22, a club officer along with Peri Gould '21 and Charlotte Wang '21, organized the on-campus collection.

    RE honors MLK with speakers, service

    Ransom Everglades celebrated the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday with a trio of events that amplified key elements of King’s distinguished life: Aspiration, service and a quest for justice. Students and faculty heard from notable speakers at the middle and upper schools, and some also participated in a “Little Dresses for Haiti” service day on the national holiday.

  • Annual toy drive brings joy to local children

    For the 28th year, members of the RE middle school community collected toys for children at several churches in Coconut Grove, with each advisory filling a huge gift bag with stuffed animals, dolls, books, sports equipment and requested items for particular children. On December 18, faculty and staff delivered the bags and the myriad overflow items – bicycles and other large gifts – to Christ Episcopal Church, which shared the items with Macedonia Baptist Church and others, bringing many surprises and smiles.
