    Four seniors named National Merit Scholars

    Makenzie Love '19, Anna Mistele '19, Margo Squire '19 and Valeria Vela '19 were named 2019 National Merit Scholarship winners, joining just 2,500 seniors nationwide to receive the distinction from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, the organization announced May 8. The four seniors were selected from a pool of some 15,000 finalists in the 64th-annual National Merit Scholarship competition.

    Testing expert advises RE parents

    A national expert on standardized testing shared test-taking and test-preparation strategies with RE parents during a special evening college counseling event at the Lewis Family Auditorium on Feb. 5. Adam Ingersoll, the Co-Founder and Principal of the Compass Education Group in California, addressed the differences between the ACT and SAT, the SAT Subject Tests, colleges' reliances on results, optimal timing for testing and other typically vexing issues.

    Six RE seniors named National AP Scholars

    Six Ransom Everglades seniors were recognized as National AP Scholars, the highest honor awarded by The College Board. Tomas Graglia '19, Makenzie Love '19, Anna Mistele '19, Isa Pena '19, Valeria Vela '19 and Ilija Wan-Simm '19 each earned an average score of at least four on all AP exams taken, and scores of four or higher on eight or more of those exams.

RE's Director of College Counseling Claudia Jolivert led the roundtable discussion with representatives from Berry College, Columbia University, Florida State University, Oberlin College and Texas Christian University.
