Children attend annual RE Carnival

Children from Arc of South Florida, a non-profit benefitting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, visited RE's Upper School on March 2 for the 2019 RE Carnival organized by the student-led Volunteer Service Organization (VSO). The carnival featured a bouncehouse, clown, boat rides on the bay, grilled picnic items for lunch, and a number of sports and craft activities organized by other student clubs. RE families and faculty/staff families also attended.
Rock 4 Relief played music from the stage, Women Empowered ran a tie-dye station, Best Buddies offered a cookie-decoration booth, REal painted faces, LASA offered kids a chance to show off their soccer skills, French Club helped attendees learn Pentanque, Charitable Arts helped them create a giant event banner, and Drama Club offered prizes for musical trivia and a chance to sing karaoke. Dockmaster Marc Buller and his wife shuttled attendees on boat rides.

Faculty member and club advisor Jonathan Scholl assisted VSO's leadership team of president Sofia Mora '20, vice president Sophia Duyos '19 and secretary Sarah Rahman '19. RE's facilities crew helped throughout the day.
