Track and field scores district titles

RE's girls' track and field team won its 14th consecutive district title at Miami Dade College April 11 as Vashti Claybrook '20, Zoe Tsoukas '20 and Isabella Sosa '20 earned individual gold medals to lead the Raiders. The girls topped a field of 11 teams, winning 13 medals overall.
Claybrook finished first in the 200-meter dash (25.52 seconds) and 400 dash (58.74). Tsoukas won gold in the 300 hurdles (47.82) and long jump (5.3 meters). Sosa and Nicole Tacher Lois '21 each cleared 1.42 meters in the high jump, finishing first and second.

RE also won golds in the 4x400 (Claybrook, Brooke Scott '21, Claire Irigoyen '19 and Fernanda Garcia Moreno '21) and 4x800 relays (Claybrook, Scott, Juliana Williamson '22, Tacher Lois). Madison Munroe '22 earned a bronze medal in the 1,600 with a time of 5 minutes, 29.43 seconds. 

The boys finished seventh led by a silver-medal finish by Wesley Cusack '19 in the 1,600-meter run (10:23.58). RE's boys also won the 4x800 relay (Cusack, Antonio Ruan '19, Alasdair MacEachearn '19 and Justin Wong '21).
