Student writers win Gold Key honors
Lucia Rose Dahn '23 and Anya Dua '22 each won the highest award – a Gold Key recognition – in the 2020 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, joining a distinguished group of alumni award winners that include acclaimed authors Stephen King and Joyce Carol Oates. Dahn is taught by RE English teacher Elisabeth Anderson and Dua by Mike Townsend.
Dahn won her Gold Key in the category of Flash Fiction for her work Latched. She also won honorable mentions in the categories of novel writing and science fiction and fantasy.
Dua was honored with a Gold Key for A Growing Memory, an entry in the Personal Essay and Memoir category.
Since 1923, the Scholastic Awards have recognized teen artists and writers. The 2020 competition was presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers.
