RE musicians garner all-state recognition

Three RE musicians have been recognized as among the premier scholastic musicians in Florida. Connor Munroe '21 became the second RE student ever named to the Florida All-State Jazz Band; Josh Buttrick '22 was named to the All-State Middle School Honor Band; and Ian Barnett '23 to the Middle School All-State Orchestra. The trio will perform at the Florida Music Educators Association Conference in Tampa in January.
Munroe plays the tenor sax; Buttrick, the bass clarinet; and Barnett, the violin. The only previous Raider to qualify for the prestigious All-State Jazz Band was Joon Kim '17, who is studying at Harvard University.

Munroe trains under band director Jon Hamm; Buttrick under Middle School Band Director Cathi Leibinger and Barnett under Strings Director Jessica Li.
