RE attends Model UN in Bilbao

Four RE students – Nicole Bremer ’19, Arianna Gonzalez ’19, Isabella Cofresi ’19 and Fernanda Garcia Moreno ’20 – won awards at the Model United Nations international competition in Bilbao, Spain, known as MUN Bilbao from Jan. 24-27.
Bremer’s position paper representing Iraq was recognized as the best of the event that drew some 400 students from 40 schools around the world. Gonzalez earned an outstanding diploma for her work representing Denmark; and Cofresi and Garcia Moreno were honored for outstanding contributions to Model Arctic Council as delegates representing Denmark.
 
Thirteen students attended under the direction of club sponsor Mari Carmen Naranjo, and world languages department chair Adabel Diaz joined as a chaperone. The student travelers:Gonzalez, Garcia Moreno Alvarez, Cofresi, Vanessa Cilloniz ’19, Karin Belausteguigoitia ’20, Sophia Sanchez ’19, Leila Hatami ’19, Daniela Gardere ’19, Mateo Jolivert ’21, Lucas Ferrer ’19, Isabella Henriquez ’21, Ana Sannia ’20 and Natalia Lopez ’21. Bremer did not attend because of illness.
 
The trip represented the RE club’s first international trip.
