About 450 grandparents and friends visit RE
Some 450 grandparents visited Ransom Everglades for Grandparents and Special Friends Day, which took place at the Middle School Feb. 13 and at the Upper School Feb. 14. A morning rainstorm did not deter more than 260 grandparents and friends of RE's sixth through eighth graders, and construction at the Upper School did not thwart nearly 200 Upper School visitors. Those who made it were treated to a trio of classes with their grandchildren and coffee and dessert with Head of School Penny Townsend, who also welcomed guests at a morning assembly.
Board Chair Andrew L. Ansin '82 also greeted the campus guests, who received direction from the respective campus heads, Head of the Middle School Rachel Rodriguez and Head of the Upper School Ken Mills, before students arrived to escort their grandparents and friends. Grandparents at the Upper School enjoyed the debut of the campus' new drop-off loop, which was opened to faciliate easier access to the Lewis Family Auditorium and eastern part of campus.
