Dance showcases growth, depth and spirit

RE's All-School Dance Showcase featured more than 90 dancers in some 60 pieces over two nights at Swenson Hall, offering a delightful deluge of dance that made it clear that RE's dance program under faculty members Desiree Masucci and Bailey Farrell is growing and thriving. The two-night performance concluded with a tribute to the program's graduating eighth graders, each of whom received long-stem roses from their younger peers. Photo Gallery

"You were my first class, and I love you so much," said Masucci to the students. "I know you are all going to make us so proud at the Upper School."

The program also said goodbye to graduating seniors Isabella Cofresi '19 and Maggie McDowell '19, who train at the Upper School under Farrell.

The two nights featured an array of pieces choeographed and cast by the students, who also had a say in their costume and lighting choices. They dedicated some of their pieces to an array of non-profit organizations whose causes inspired the works: Breakthrough Miami, National Alliance on Mental Illnes, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Children's Bereavement Center, No More Tears, Rainbow Foundation, Miami Girls Foundation and #Black Girls Magic movement.
