The boys' varsity quad of stroke Andres Segrera '18, Aston Craft '20, Jackson Bryan '20 and bow Will Mathes '19 won the 2019 USRowing Southeast Championship, earning an invitation to the 2019 USRowing Youth National Championship in June in Sarasota. The quad topped a crew from the Bolles School, surging ahead in the final meters for a victory by 0.15 seconds.
The boys earned a place in the regional grand final with their victory on May 11 in the time trial, which they won in 6 minutes, 4.9 seconds. In the May 12 final, the boys led the race until 300 meters to go, when the Bolles School crew took a slight lead. RE fought back in the final strokes, crossing the finish line in 6 minutes, 31.7 seconds.

The southeast championship victory was the first-ever for Ransom Everglades in a nationals-qualifying event. The same crew will compete under coach Tim McAllister May 18-19 at the prestigious Stotesbury Cup Regatta in Philadelphia, where they will vie for a bid to the Scholastic National Championship.
