REbotics wins two awards at Junior Orange Bowl

RE continued its customary success in middle school robotics as a team of seventh and eighth graders won major awards in two categories at the 4th Annual Junior Orange Bowl VEX IQ Middle School State Qualifying Competition. That team, Joseph David '24, Francisco Gomez Rivas-Vaquez '24, Mateo Heitner '25, Miguel Kumar '25, Victoria Paraoulaki de Miranda '24, Chloe Alfonso '24 and Charlotte Kennedy '24 also earned an invitation to the state robotics championship. 
The team earned the Excellence Award and Robot Skills Champion Award, and also tied for first in the teamwork finals with another team from REbotics: Joseph Buttrick '25, Erick Gross '24, Myles Heller '24 and Varun Raju '24. The two teams also tied for second in the overall finalist scoring.

The two teams were led by faculty members Gustavo Palacios and James Oxsalida.
