Students display summer work at internship forum

Ransom Everglades students spent last summer engaging in summer work in fields ranging from artificial intelligence to medicine to law to construction. They did hands-on research, assisted scientists and physicians, wrote code, prepared proposals, taught math classes and offered music instruction. Many shared details of their work during the Ransom Everglades Internship Forum at the Lewis Family Auditorium Jan. 30.
Many of the hands-on, project-based opportunities were arranged through a still new and growing program at Ransom Everglades called Summer Learning through Internships and Mentoring (SLIM). Coordinated by faculty member Paul Natland '02, the program is continually seeking to expand project-based or research-based summer opportunities for RE students through alumni and parent connections as well as established internships.

Anyone interested in offering a project- or research-based activity for an RE student or students that lasts 4-8 weeks, ideally between mid-June and early August, should contact Natland by March 1.
