Dani Ortiz '21, won all-Dade first-team recognition for fall 2019 from the Miami Herald as four football players made the Herald's first All-Independent Football Team. Find the all-Dade report

More than two dozen RE student-athletes earned all-Dade honors in the report posted online Feb. 19, and Thomas Schein '21, Nick Namias '20, Stephen Garrett '20 and Robert Moret '20 were named to the newspaper's inaugural all-independent football team.
Seven Raiders earned second-team all-Dade recognition and seven, third-team honors. See complete list below.
Jake Beber-Frankel, who is headed to Stanford University to continue his golf career, finished tied for third in the state and won district and regional championships. DeAngulo, who will pursue golf at Northwestern University, won the district title and finished 13th at the state meet; Phoebe Beber-Frankel finished second in districts and tied for 21st at states.
Balestra scored 481 assists, 154 digs, 65 kills and 17 aces in 2019; Ortiz collected 648 assists, 163 service points, 36 aces, 159 digs and 46 kills.
The four football players helped the Raiders finish near the top of the Florida Independent Football Conference with a 7-3 record after a 6-0 start. Schein completed 55 percent of his passes for 1,165 yards and 12 touchdowns. Moret caught 53 passes for 675 yards and eight touchdowns. All four players won previous all-county recognition.
