Castrillon and Michelson families write: "The past weeks have been very challenging for all of us, having to adapt so quickly to the developing events due to COVID-19 is crazy. We are in complete awe with the implementation of REmote School, it’s very impressive. But most of all we couldn’t be prouder of the RE kids, the way the have adapted and made the best out of the circumstances is outstanding. The silver linings we have witnessed are infinite and we are beyond grateful to be part of the Ransom Everglades family.
The Castrillon and Michelsen families have been working with the Key Biscayne Foundation Hermanos de la Calle for the past months. Their mission is to feed the downtown homeless people every other Friday and to help them to get off the streets. We are proud to say that for the past weeks many of the sixth grade families have volunteered through us and we have been able to deliver 240 fresh, homemade meals prepared by the kids with special messages for these people in the streets. We have even managed to get some mask to them so they can stay safe. The best part is that as soon as we finish delivering the meals the group for the next delivery is almost full! We will continue helping everyone we can and putting RE name high in our precious Miami. We are positive that our kids will never forget this times when we all got together and cooked together to help our community! Attached are photos of the kids working in this project!
