Sixth grader wins scholastic chess event

Christopher Page '27 won first place in the K-8 division of the South Miami Chess Club Avant Garde Scholastic Tournament, one of the first in-person events in scholastic chess since the pandemic hit. Page competed alongside some 60 students from Gulliver Prep, Franklin Academy and other schools, going 5-0 in five rounds of the March 16 competition in Hollywood, Fla. Faculty member Luis Felipe advises RE's chess team.
