"The past 14 months have definitely tested us," Goff said. "We are incredibly proud of the resilience and grit demonstrated by our student-athletes and coaches this year ... Challenges were plentiful in 2020-21."
Goff noted that some 450 upper school students played on 33 teams in 2020-21. Every senior athlete was recognized with a photo slide, and various coaches presented the 13 major awards. Lindsay Gould '21 and Danny Mendoza '21 won the Scholar Athlete Awards, and Dani Ortiz '21 and Stephan Baker '22 won the Athletic Performance Awards. The boys' soccer team earned Team of the Year. The rest of the award winners and seniors continuing their sports in college can be found below.
Most of RE's teams adjusted to shortened seasons, and all adapted to COVID-19 protocols, such as mask-wearing for indoor sports. Every sport practiced social distancing and most endured quarantines at some point.
