Raiders roll in home opener

Junior Nicholas Goldberg '23 opened the scoring in the first half on a well placed shot following a corner kick to give the Raiders an early lead over Pine Crest in the home opener. Both teams would create scoring chances throughout the remainder of the half before senior David Pulido '22 would find the back of the net on a strong finish in the 18 yard box.  Senior Dillan Kaye '22 would complete the scoring on a great assist from Pulido '22 in the 3-0 victory. Defensively, the Raiders were led by outstanding performances from seniors Nicholas Denaro '22, and Juan Riviera '22. Senior goal keeper Jasper Broad '22 made sure the shutout would hold up with a pair of crucial saves in the second half. The victory moves the Raiders to 1-0 on the season as they set their sights on a home game against Palmer Trinity this Friday evening at 5:00 p.m.
