Seniors move to No. 1 in the nation in debate

Noah Gold '22 and Zach Marcus '22 soared to No. 1 in the National Debate Coaches Association rankings in Public Forum after winning the online Princeton Classic on December 5, their second straight victory in a national speech and debate tournament. The pair prevailed in 12 rounds of competition in the classic, which included some 140 entries and took place just five weeks after they won the public forum title at Florida's prestigious Blue Key tournament.
Teammates Sophia Rubinstein '22 and Eva Tariko '22 climbed to 18th in the nation; they advanced to the octofinals of the Princeton Classic. The two teams highlighted another successful tournament under coach Kate Hamm: Sindhu Talluri '25 and Max Salomon '25 advanced to the quarterfinals in the novice division of Public Forum Debate (117 teams); David Dubovy '22 reached the finals in Congressional Debate, finishing in the top 12; and Ali Feghhi '25 advanced to the semifinals in Humorous Interpretation of Literature. A number of other RE competitors advanced out of the preliminary rounds.
