RE students claim art and writing awards
Inceni Cabrera '22, Lucia Rose Dahn '23, Andrew Gedde '25, Jack He '25 and Rylan Sadler '22 each received a Gold or Silver Key award, or both, in the 2021 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Nineteen Ransom Everglades students combined to win four gold keys, four silvers and 24 honorable mentions.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is a highly competitive national program that since 1923 has recognized outstanding achievement in high school students’ creative and critical writing. Entries are evaluated by a panel of judges and awarded "keys" based on their excellence. Alumni winners include authors Stephen King and Joyce Carol Oates. Gold key winners will have their entries submitted to the national competition, where they will be in contention for national medals and potential scholarships.
Each of the recognized students was sponsored by one of the following faculty members: Matthew Helmers, Ariel Lewis, Elizabeth Cornick, Frances Alexander, Gila Aloni, Kate Hamm, Matt Stock, Jorge Guzman, Astrid Dalins, Elsa Munoz.

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
