RE speech and debate wins two state titles
Ransom Everglades’ speech and debate team claimed two state titles and a host of top finishes at the Florida Forensic League Varsity State Championships in Orlando on March 5. Noah Gold ’22 and Zach Marcus ’22 topped the field in Public Forum debate as five RE students combined to win the state title in World School Debate: Anya Dua ’22, Dina Kaplan ’22, Luca Campiani ’22, Mather Davidson ’22 and Varun Raju ’24.
Sol Cuello-Robert ’22 finished in second place in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking and sixth in Impromptu Speaking, and Noa Abboud ’24 and Alexandra Henriquez ’22 earned third place in Duo Interpretation.
Earning semifinal honors: Kyle Ng ’23 and Eva Bricker ’23 in After Dinner Speaking; Lauren Page ’24 and Francesca Lopez ’24 in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking; Jessica Weinstein ’22 in Dramatic Interpretation; Livia Hermann and Bricker in Duo Interpretation; Henriquez in Program Oral Interpretation; Nicole Rodriguez ’22 and Ceci Granda-Scott ’22 in Public Forum Debate; and Leticia Crosby ’23, Dylan Miner ’23, Logan Feldman ’24, Mason Signorello ’23 and Mikey Zoi ’24 in World Schools Debate.
RE, led by program director Kate Hamm, won first place in the Debate Sweepstakes, and second in the Overall Sweepstakes.
