MS mathletes top 10 in state

The middle school math team finished 10th in the state in the 2022 Florida State Mathcounts Competition on March 16 in Jacksonville, standing out among more than 100 middle school teams from around the state. Daniel Li ’28, Robert Li ’26, Aarav Jindal ’26, Gabe Karsenti ’26, Joshie Khohayting ’28 and Alex Tevelow ’28 contributed to the finish under coach and middle school math coordinator Jessica Merrick.
RE's mathletes advanced to the state event with a top-three finish in the South Florida regional competition, where Daniel Li earned a third place individually. He and Khohayting posted the top scores in Jacksonville for the Raiders, who solved dozens of challenging problems related to algebra, geometry and graph theory.

Middle school mathletes also fared well in this year's AMC 8 math competition.

Khohayting and Robert Li earned scores that were in the top 5 percent of the nation. Daniel Li and Tevelow were both nationally recognized with an AMC Certificate of Achievement for sixth graders who score exceptionally well. Ella Wang '27 also earned recognition as a high scorer among RE students.
