Students unite for campus-wide service project

Ransom Everglades sophomores and juniors assembled personal hygiene bags for families in Coconut Grove at the same time that freshmen and seniors put together Easter Baskets for students in Project Thrive, a program run by ARC of South Florida that helps children with intellectual or developmental delays. The campus-wide service project took place during a break in the school day on April 7.
Faculty members Laurie Miller, Andrea Gallardo and Karen Key helped organize the event sponsored by the Volunteer Service Council. Each of the bags and baskets included myriad items and a handmade Easter card. The council was able to deliver 200 hygiene bags to the Coconut Grove Crisis Food Pantry and baskets for 91 children in Project Thrive.
