Shipley, who helped her team to the state semifinals in water polo, was also named the
Herald’s Player of the Year for water polo, and she was among 24 student-athletes named to the Florida High School Athletic Association’s 28
th Annual Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team. She received a $1,700 check for that honor during a June 6 banquet in Gainesville. Find the

Ransom Everglades was also named the Boys' Major Sports Winner by the
Herald on June 13 for finishing as the state runner-up for soccer in Class 3A; going 8-1 in football as an independent; reaching the regional tournament in basketball' and winning a team district title in track and field. Find the story on that award
