College counseling office offers guidance during Senior Parent Night

Senior parent received guidance about the college process and insight into new approaches at Ransom Everglades from RE's Executive Director of College Counseling Jason Locke and Director of College Counseling Patrick Tassoni during a Senior Parent Night on August 31 at the Lewis Family Auditorium.
Associate Head of School John A. King Jr. introduced Locke and Tassoni, both of whom arrived to Ransom Everglades' college counseling office this summer. Locke directed the college counseling office at Cornell University for more than two decades, and Tassoni worked with international students at the American School in Dubai.

Locke explained that he, Tassoni and college counselors King, Claudia Jolivert and Roger Caron would be working in 2022-23 to engage with senior parents and ensure their students are elevated in the admission process by identifying the "signature" experiences that make each child special. Tassoni shared many of the nuts and bolts of the process. Senior parents can learn more by going to the college college resources page on myCOMPASS.

The meeting was the first of many college counseling parent events in 2022-23. Locke, Tassoni and their fellow counselors will also meeting with parents from the ninth, 10th and 11th grades during a variety of evening opportunities.
