Academic team's big weekend includes third in National History Bowl

Members of RE's Academic Team scored more than 20 top-10 finishes in a variety of national academic competitions in Arlington, Va., April 27-30. The most notable successes: RE's team of Leo Fein '23, Daniel Figueroa '24, Parker Jelke '27, Jonathan Pollak '23, Isabel Chong '24 and Mikey Zoi '24 won third place for the second straight year in the National History Bowl as the JV team of Chase Dubovy '25, Jaz Puri '28, Jacob Aronow '26, Charlie Reizenstein '26 and Nicholas Juhasz '26 finished in ninth place in the JV bowl. Fein also won fifth place in the varsity National History Bee as Jelke claimed fourth in the JV National History Bee. 
Other top-10 individual finishes for Ransom Everglades under coach Abby Berler during the weekend, which included the 2023 International Academic Competitions:

Leo Fein '24: 1st on National Ancient History Exam, 1st on National Historical Geography Exam, 5th on National History Bee, 10th on International Geography Bee, 7th on National Political Science, 7th on National American Geography Exam

Daniel Figueroa '24: 2nd on National Historical Geography Exam, 5th on National American Geography Exam, 7th on National Ancient History Exam, 7th on National Recent History Exam

Jonathan Pollak '23: 3rd on National Recent History Exam

Parker Jelke '27: 3rd on JV National Historical Geography Exam, 3rd on JV National Ancient History Exam

Isabel Chong '24: 5th on National Military History Exam

Erick Gross '24: 5th on National Physics Exam, 6th on National Earth Science Exam

Benny Fishman '26: 9th on JV National Earth Science Exam
