"Iran's Nuclear Quest and the World: An Insider's View"
Colin Kahl, an associate professor in the Security Studies Program in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, spoke to students on October 4, 2012 about Iran's quest for nuclear weapons, and the emerging U.S. regional security architecture to counter it.
Kahl was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East at the Pentagon, the senior policy advisor to the Secretary of Defense for Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel and the Palestinian territories, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, and six other countries in the Levant and Persian Gulf. He is a regular consultant for the Department of Defense and the Intelligence community and a contributor to Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy. In 2005-2006, Kahl was a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow working on stability operations and counterinsurgency at the Department of Defense. In 1997-1998, he was a National Security Fellow at Harvard University's Olin Institute for Strategic Studies.
