The recognition of 12 seniors – Ben Arriola '18, Luca Gonzalez-Abreu '18, Raquel Coronell '18, Ganesh Gajavelli '18, Chase Moralejo '18, Leo Menninger '18, Danielle Pena '18, Maya Rosenfeld '18, Ryan Schwartz '18,  Jacob Tie-Shue '18, Ryan Tie-Shue '18 and Mateo Weinberg '18 provided the evening's highlight.
Band Director Jon Hamm praised the seniors for their artistry, commitment and respect, and handed out three special awards, noting that the two additional awards will be distributed during the school's April 24 awards ceremony. Gajavelli received the Bill Pender Award; Gonzalez-Abreu earned the Tri-M Music National Honor Society Award; and Menninger, the Leonard Bernstein Award. The seniors then showered Hamm with gratitude, presenting him with a signed photo that included the inscription: "Thank you for the wonderful years and, most importantly, thank you for the music."

The evening concluded with the formal unveiling of RE's new alma mater, "Rise Up For Old RE," which was written by Hamm's son Alex Hamm '09 and dedicated to Head of School Penny Townsend, Associate Head of School John A. King, Jr., and Head of the Upper School Ken Mills. The symphonic band also dedicated one of its final pieces, "El Camino Real," to Middle School Band Director Cathi Leibinger, whose guidance during their middle school days proved pivotal to the senior class. The symphonic band finished with its theme song, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl," dedicating it to Andy Ansin '81 and the Ansin family, who the week prior restored the missing pirate/raider statue to Raider Plaza.

The RE Combo, RE Guitar Ensemble, RE vocalists and the RE Symphonic Band performed a range of pieces spanning more than a century during the performance, which featured vocals by Pena, Julia Bhatt '20 and Jon Hamm.
