RE sailing gets top finishes at home

RE sailing finished first in the junior varsity division of the South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association South Points #4 at Ransom Everglades on Jan. 19 as the squad’s varsity sailors claimed fourth overall and first among South Florida schools in the varsity competition.
The first-place JV was led by the A team of Jacob Wolfe ’21, Liam de Araujo ’21, Felipe Clavijo ’21 and Gabe Vianna ’21 and the B team of Ashlyn Cowgill ’19, Bruce Jagid ’21, Eva Gonzalez-Whitehouse ’22, Gwen Howland ’19, Palmer Lykes ‘21, Jordan Hoffman ’21, David Dubovy ’22 and Tabias Kaczka ’22.
 
Javi Garcon ’21 and Claire Holzman ’21 represented the varsity A team, and Julia Johansson ’19, Stefan Baker ’22, Adam Kaplan ’21, Hannah Bast ’21 and Lucas Vianna ’21, the B team. Three Tampa-area teams topped RE; St. Thomas Aquinas finished sixth overall. Sailing Coach Joseph Logan led the teams and directed the event.
