Raiders earn shutout on senior night
Senior Joaquin Merlo-Garzon '24 led the way with two goals and one assist as the Raiders rolled to a 6-0 victory over International Studies in front of the home fans to celebrate senior night. Seniors Noa Abboud '24, Tyler Mason '24 and Sebastian Masferrer '24 all added a goal of their own to open up a large lead at halftime. Junior Frankie Pines '24 rounded out the scoring for the Raiders with a goal in the second half. Defensively, goalkeepers Martin Piedrahita '24 and JJ Candib '26 combined for the shutout. The victory moves the Raiders to 5-6 on the season as they head into the final two weeks of regular season play. The team will get back to the practice field today as they prepare to host a palm league playoff game Thursday evening.Read More -
Raiders pick up third straight win
Senior Sebastian Masferrer '24 converted on a great feed from junior Luca Falero '25 to get the Raiders on the board in the second minute of play and take a 1-0 lead over Somerset Silver Palms. The Raiders would strike again a minute later as junior Frankie Pines '245played a great pass to senior Joaquin Merlo-Garzon '24 to add to the lead. The Raider defense and freshman goalkeeper Jude Yeo '27 held up well to significant pressure from Silver Palms in the second half keeping the shutout intact. Freshman Owen Brue '27 would find senior Alec Stein '24 for the final goal of the game in a 3-0 victory. With the win the Raiders move to 3-2 on the season. Raiders earn hard fought victory in home opener
Junior Lucas Falero '25 connected on a terrific pass from freshman Lucas Piedrahita '27 for the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Miami Country Day School in difficult weather conditions. Rain and wind pounded Robert E. Walker Field limiting scoring opportunities for both teams. Senior Tyler Mason '24 was dominant in the midfield area controlling possession for the Raiders. Senior goalkeeper Martin Piedrahita '24 and sophomore Ryan Alesandro '26 came up clutch with crucial saves to preserve the victory and the Raiders first shutout of the season. The Raiders will get back to the practice field today as they turn their attention to Somerset Academy next Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m at Robert E. Walker Field.Read More -
Boys soccer picks up crucial road victory
Senior Joaquin Merlo Garzon '24 came off the bench and delivered the Raiders two goals in a much needed 2-1 road victory over Key West High School. Senior Tyler Mason '24 continued his strong start to the season assisting on both goals. The Raiders showed toughness in a game where they battled through injuries and fatigue to hold off a late push from the Conchs of Key West. Senior goal keeper Martin Piedrahita '24 had his best performance of the season with key saves late to earn the victory. Raiders pick up preseason victory
Seniors Tyler Mason '24 and Sebastian Masferrer '24 both had a goal in a 2-1 victory over St. Brendan in the Raiders final tune up before opening day at MAST Academy November, 7th. Senior Antonio de Macedo '24 assisted both goals. The Raider defense held up well minimizing St. Brendan's opportunities on goal. Offensively, the Raiders were able to create scoring chances with strong midfield play. The Raiders will get back to the practice fields today as they start preparations for the start of the regular season next week.Read More
