Raiders advance to regional semifinals with straight set victory
Senior Mia Jean Claude '24 and junior Julia Lewkowitz '25 combined for 25 kills and three aces to lead the way in a three set sweep over Miami Country Day in FHSAA regional quarterfinal competition. Senior Kennedy Hagen '24 added six kills, and four blocks in the victory. Junior Lindsay Ng '25 led all Raiders with a team high 15 assists. With the victory the Raiders earned their 24th win of the season and will host a regional semifinal Friday evening against the #3 seed, Westminster Academy. Raiders cap off special regular season with homecoming victory
In front of a large crowd the Raiders celebrated homecoming and senior night with a three set victory over Palmetto High School to close out the regular season. Seniors Andrea Ortiz '24, and Juju Perez '24 combined for 10 kills, five aces and four blocks in the victory. Senior Kennedy Hagen '24 added a team high five blocks, and senior Carli Bogle '24 added a block of her own to go along with a kill. Senior Stephanie Wallen '24 led the Raiders with 26 assists. With the victory the Raiders closed out the regular season with their 21st win and put themselves in prime position to make a post season run. The #2 seeded Raiders will open post season play tomorrow in a home district quarterfinal against 7th seeded Archimedean at 7:00 p.m. Congratulations to all our seniors on a wonderful year.Read More -
Raiders celebrate Dig Pink with straight set victory
On a special night, in a front of a special crowd, the Raiders defeated Coral Gables High School in straight sets to earn their twentieth win of the regular season and position themselves for a high seed in the district tournament next week. The Raiders jumped out to an early in lead in all three games led by seniors Kennedy Hagen '24, Carli Bogle '24, Andrea Ortiz '24, Steph Wallen '24 and Juju Perez '24. The Raiders will look to cap off a spectacular regular season this coming Friday as they face Palmetto High School for homecoming and senior night. Raiders earn palm league playoff victory to move to 16-3
Junior Julia Lewkowitz '25 led the way with 27 kills as the Raiders earned a hard fought victory over The Benjamin School in four sets to move to 16-3 on the season. Senior Kennedy Hagen '24 added 10 kills and two aces. The Raiders received solid play from their defense led by junior Addison Pollock '25 who had a team high 34 digs, and junior Lindsay Ng '25 added 32 assists. The Raiders look to continue their winning ways as they head to Florida Christian this weekend to compete in tournament play before returning home for dig pink next week.Read More -
Raiders move to 12-1 with three set victory
Senior Carli Bogle '24 and Julianna Perez '24 led the way combining for six aces and five kills in a straight set victory over University School. Junior Lindsay Ng '25 had a strong all around performance with 10 assists and five aces. From the opening whistle, the Raiders never trailed and cruised to victory. The Raiders will now turn their attention to the C-M Cares tournament this weekend where top teams from South Florida will compete. The Raiders will begin play on Friday at 3:30 p.m. with a total of three games against Riviera Prep, Pompano Beach, and Cypress Bay.Read More -
Raiders take Tournament of Champions title, move to 9-0
The Raiders magical start to the season continued behind a stellar weekend at the Tournament of Champions that resulted in a 6-0 record, and 1st place finish. Juniors Julia Lewkowitz '25, and Mia Jean Claude '25 combined for 115 kills, 45 digs, and 15 aces over the course of the tournament. Senior Andrea Ortiz '24 had a big weekend with 37 digs, 31 kills, and 10 aces. Senior Stephanie Wallen '24 continued her solid play with a a team high 118 assists. Defensively, junior Addison Pollock '25 was all over the place with a team high 87 digs. From the opening whistle Friday morning the Raiders came ready to play. In pool play they would defeat Lakeland High School, Frederick Douglas (KY) High School , Winter Spring High School and Steinbrenner High School to earn the top seed in the semifinal round. In a tight battle Saturday afternoon, the Raiders would defeat Lourdes in a third set winner take all 15-10 victory. In the final the Raiders would sweep Olympia High School by the score of 26-24, and 25-21 to close out a special weekend and be crowned champions.Read More -
Raiders move to 2-0 in four set victory over Miami Country Day
Despite a shaky start that put the Raiders behind a set, the team responded in a big way in a four set victory over Miami Country Day. Junior Julia Lewkowitz '25 had a team high 17 kills, and senior Stephanie Wallen '24 contributed 30 assists in the win. The Raiders used precision passing and strong serving to jump out to big leads in the second and third sets, led by juniors Mia Jean Claude '25 and Addison Pollack '25. A strong fourth set across the board closed out the match and moved the Raiders to 2-0 on the season. The team will get back on the practice court today as they prepare for a busy week ahead with a road contest at Palmer Trinity followed by the Tournament of Champions event in Tampa, Florida this coming weekend.Read More -
Raider volleyball earns road victory
Juniors Julia Lewkowitz '25, and Mia Jean Claude '25 combined for 22 kills, eight blocks, eight digs, and four aces to lead the way in a decisive three set victory over Florida Christian to open the season. Junior Lindsey Ng '25 was sharp in the opener with a team high 14 assists. The Raiders showed they were ready to play from the opening whistle jumping out to a 12-4 lead in the first set. From there, the Raiders would keep the pressure on to take the opening set 25-17. The second set saw both teams go toe to toe in a thrilling 26-24 come from behind victory. From there the Raiders would keep their foot on the gas and finish out the match in three sets.
