RE sailing wins gold at national invitational regatta

RE's sailing team won the Lawrence A. White Invitational at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, defending its 2015 title while topping a field of 20 schools from Maine to Miami. RE's A team of Shawn Harvey '17, Delilah Lubarsky '17 and Bernat Miro '19 dominated the national invitational regatta.
Under new sailing coach Joseph L. Logan III, RE's sailors finished with a two-day best tally of 116 points, finishing ahead of the Antilles School from St. Thomas, V.I. (174), and Arrowhead High from Hartland, Wisc. (192). Fort Lauderdale's St. Thomas Aquinas High claimed fourth (221). The regatta took place Oct. 15-16 in New London, Conn.

Ransom Everglades won the first four races and never let up, maintaining its lead through 16 races. Tucker Weed '18, Maddie Sharp '18, Paul Lobree '18, Alex Sidi '17 and Anthony McLeod Kennedy '18 easily won the B division.
