The Fund for RE & Faculty Development

Support for faculty development enables investments in the caring, dedicated faculty at the heart of our school.

From conferences to webinars to advanced degrees, our teachers are able to access a wide range of resources and experiences to ensure that they deliver the best possible education to our students. And several faculty members gave their own presentations at conferences this year, representing Ransom Everglades as a national thought leader in education.
“At RE, we are fortunate to have access to numerous opportunities for professional development. Each professional development session nourishes our souls and sparks conversations among colleagues that generate new ideas. They reignite our passion and enthusiasm, motivating us to return to the classroom with a positive attitude and fresh new tools that benefit us and our students.

“For instance, the blended learning Outward Bound edition of the Biology curriculum was created through exposure to professional development opportunities and the collaboration of a shared vision. Our goal was to keep the curriculum moving, ensure that students continued learning without overwhelming them, and assess them fairly.”

– Adriana Sanchez, Upper School Dean of Studies

“The students are amazing to work with, and I feel it is truly my honor and privilege to do so. Their desire to learn and understand is very motivating, so that I always want to bring my ‘A game’ to class. I also am constantly motivated to do my best by the incredible faculty that surround me in different departments. I am happy to have valued colleagues and mentors that constantly impassion me to be better.

“I attended an Exponential Innovation Program from Singularity University that really changed my view of education and shaped my view of how exponential technologies (such as artificial intelligence, blockchain,  mixed reality,  etc.) will affect our students' future. It got me thinking about how education will change, as well, and – on a daily basis – shapes how I approach teaching.”

– Paul Natland ’02, STEM faculty, physics
