Back to School

Welcome! Our back-to-school page is designed to help new and returning RE families prepare for the 2024-25 school year by aggregating information on topics ranging from textbooks to school forms to student orientation. For those of you who have just joined the RE community, we are thrilled to have you and know you will love your time at Ransom Everglades. Please return to this page throughout the summer; it will be updated as new information becomes available.

List of 19 items.

  • Orientation for New Students and those in Grades 6 and 9

    Tuesday, August 20
Save the date! More information on this event to come.
RE will also take a photo of legacy students in the Class of 2031 with their alumni parents.
  • School Forms (due August 1)

RE families can find instructions here on completing required medical and athletic forms for the 2024-25 school year.

Instructions on completing online-only school forms will be shared via email in early June and posted here.

The school forms are due August 1.
  • School Uniforms

Ransom Everglades offers two middle school uniform vendors, Dennis Uniform and Lands’ End. You may purchase uniforms either in person or online from Dennis Uniform, or online through Lands’ End.

There is no uniform for the upper school.

Please note that full dress code requirements will be shared in the 2024-25 Student Handbook, which will be released before the start of school.
  • Technology Information / Laptops

New students and parents should visit RE's Technology Start Up web page to learn how to access myCOMPASS (the school's learning management system) and set up the student's RE email account.

RE's Technology Services Department is open during the summer and ready to assist our students and parents. Please email REsolve@ransomeverglades.org with requests for technical assistance. Our summer support hours are 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Every student will receive a new laptop at the start of the 2024-25 academic year. To receive a new laptop for the fall, returning students must complete all of the tasks below by June 4, 2024:

    1. Remove all personal stickers and decorations from the laptop (don’t remove the sticker with the laptop serial number).

    2. Review laptop files and back up any important files and data stored locally on the hard drive. This includes files stored on the desktop, downloads, documents or videos folders or folders on the C: drive. The Technology Services Department can assist with this.

    3. Make sure to include the stylus and school-issued Lenovo charger that were issued with the laptop. Because of our vendor lease obligations, the student will be charged for the laptop or any associated items not returned on time. If you have not previously turned in your laptop case, we will collect those for recycling.

    4. Turn in your school-issued laptop and all associated parts by June 4, 2024. Collection sites will be located on both campuses during the last days of school; students will be notified of their class collection site during advisory.

There is a limited supply available of loaner laptops for assignment to current students with prioritized RE related academic commitments during the summer. Please complete this form before May 3, 2024, to express the student’s need for an academic loaner laptop. Technology Services will notify the student by May 24, 2024, if the loaner inventory can accommodate the request. Loaner laptops will be distributed at the Upper School Technology Services Center on June 4, 5, 6, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Textbooks

Book ordering and distribution for most required books will be through MBS Direct, our online book distributor. MBS Direct offers families several options for most books, including purchasing or renting them, and including new, used, and electronic options as they are available by title. This range of options allows families to make decisions based on cost and student preference.

The MBS site will be open for ordering textbooks for the 2024-25 academic year on July 15, 2024. Place your orders early to ensure that you have the best number of options for purchasing books and that your order will arrive before school begins. (Free shipping is offered through July 28, 2024.) Distribution of trade paperback books, typically used in English classes, and special titles, such as math textbooks authored by our own faculty members, certain course packs and digital content are managed directly by the RE Store. You will receive details and specific instructions for ordering books in mid-July.

The RE Store staff is available to assist with this process; feel free to contact the RE Store if you have questions.
