RE speech and debate at states

Eight RE speech and debate students placed in the top four in the state at the Florida Forensic League Varsity State Tournament March 2-3 as team coach and teacher Kate Hamm received FFL Coach of the Year recognition. The teams of Dori Schurr '20 and Oliver Stern '19, and Marley Rywell '19 and Brianna Kerr '19, accrued top finishes in public forum as four individual competitors advanced to semifinal rounds during the championship at West Broward High.
The honor for Hamm followed a similar honor last month; she was named Coach of the Year by Art Deco Region 5.

In individual events,
Lucas Miner '20 advaanced to the semifinal round of International Extemporaneous speaking; Danny Jackson '21 made the semifinals in Humorous Interpretation; Georgia Crosby '21 reached the semifinalists in Informative Speaking; and Ilija Wan-Simm '19 competed in the semifinal round in Program of Oral Interpretation.
