Welcome to Ransom Everglades

At Ransom Everglades, students explore, problem-solve, and imagine. They collaborate and work across disciplines, and participate in arts, athletics and other co-curricular activities. Students are encouraged to be curious and courageous, and are guided in their quest for academic excellence by supportive and encouraging faculty. RE students learn their place in the world; they empathize, and give back more than they take.

On these admission pages, you will find all the information students and their families need to begin the application process. “Every student should take advantage of the teachers. They all want you to succeed, and they want to help. The teachers at Ransom Everglades are available and accessible … they are there to listen, there to help, there to enrich your life and your education.”
Ransom Everglades students are engaged in and outside of the classroom. They think deeply, and they are doers. They engage in meaningful discussions. They stretch themselves in sports, music, art and drama. They try new things. Every student learns to sail and paddle a canoe. Learn more by watching these videos.
Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida. Ransom Everglades School produces graduates who "believe that they are in the world not so much for what they can get out of it as for what they can put into it." The school provides rigorous college preparation that promotes the student's sense of identity, community, personal integrity and values for a productive and satisfying life, and prepares the student to lead and to contribute to society.
