The Raiders secured a victory over Hebrew Academy, using a dominant first quarter to take control early and never look back. From the opening whistle, the team brought high energy on both ends of the floor, storming out to a commanding 20–4 lead that set the tone for the night. Senior Quin Pegg '26 continued his standout play, posting a strong all-around performance with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Junior Dimitri Tatulishvili '27 was once again a force in the paint, contributing 16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals to help anchor the defensive effort. The senior duo of Zach Schatzman '26 and Matheus Dabus '26 added valuable production as well, combining for 19 points and 10 rebounds to round out a balanced and efficient offensive attack. The Raiders will get back to the practice court today as they prepare for a road contest tomorrow night against Braddock High School.

The boys' team, led by a ninth grader and a quartet of seniors, also performed well, capturing 12th place at the event in Tallahassee.

Her hot start gave the Raiders the momentum they needed and kept SLAM on their heels all night. Junior Holly Clement '27 controlled the rhythm from start to finish, pushing the pace, securing key rebounds, and providing steady defensive pressure. She closed the night with a well-rounded 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assists. Eighth grader Victoire Paulet '30 made a major impact in her varsity debut, posting a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. It was a true team win, with contributions from across the roster and consistent energy on both ends of the floor. The Raiders played with effort, togetherness, and focus—an ideal way to open the season.

Ransom Everglades delivered a landmark performance on Friday night, going on the road and defeating rival Gulliver Prep 20–13 to secure the program’s first state-series playoff victory in three decades. Behind a balanced offensive effort and a relentless defensive unit, the Raiders controlled the game’s key moments and wrote a historic chapter for the program.

Sophomore Quarterback Matt Guevara '28 set the tone both through the air and on the ground. He completed 8 of 14 passes for 102 yards, including a 32-yard strike that sparked the offense early. Guevara was equally impactful in the run game, carrying the ball 23 times for 89 yards and powering in a rushing touchdown while managing the offense with poise throughout the night.

The Raiders’ backfield depth proved decisive. Sophomore Noah Alce '28 added 54 hard-earned yards on 12 carries and punched in a touchdown that helped RE build second-half momentum. Sophomore Hans Van de Kreeke '28 provided an explosive spark on both sides of the ball with two carries for 26 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown that extended the lead and shifted control toward the Raiders and intercepting a pass on defense.

Defensively, Ransom Everglades delivered stop after stop—tightening in the red zone, winning the line of scrimmage, and coming up with a key late-game stand that sealed the victory. The unit’s discipline limited big plays and allowed the offense to dictate tempo as the game progressed. With the 20–13 win, the Raiders not only advances to the next round of the FHSAA state playoffs but also celebrates a milestone generations in the making: the Raiders’ first state-series playoff triumph in 30 years, achieved on the road against a longtime rival.

The Ransom Everglades boys varsity soccer team battled back from an early deficit to defeat Oxbridge Prep in dramatic fashion, winning 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regulation. The Raiders started flat-footed, struggling to find rhythm and allowing Oxbridge to strike first just five minutes into the match. After regrouping during the first water break, Ransom Everglades took control of possession and dictated the pace for the remainder of the game. Their persistence paid off about 10 minutes into the second half when they found the equalizer. Late drama unfolded as Oxbridge regained the lead off a free kick with just three minutes left, but the Raiders refused to quit. With one minute remaining, senior Jake Davies '26 fired a brilliant shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner to tie the game at 2-2 and force penalties. In the shootout, Davies '26, Ricky Cury ‘26, Justin Beckam ‘28, and Lucas Rua ‘26 all converted from the spot, while freshman goalkeeper Gustavo Pombo '29 came up with a key save to secure the 4-2 win. Freshman Lilla Chang '29 turned in her best varsity performance yet, scoring twice to cap the Raiders’ offensive surge. Junior goalkeeper Juju Hommen '27 secured her first career shutout in net. With the victory, the Raiders improves to 1–1 and will look to carry the momentum into the Palm League Quarterfinals at home against Miami Country Day on Monday at 5 p.m.

The Raiders’ consistent performances throughout the lineup secured them second place with 58 points, comfortably ahead of Keys Gate Charter in third (105).
Leading the way for Ransom Everglades was senior captain Joseph Candib '26, who placed fifth overall with a time of 17:20.29, setting the tone for a strong team effort. Freshman Ivan Lefrak '29 continued his standout debut season, finishing seventh in 17:30.21, while senior Nelson Manstein '26 added key points with a 12th-place finish in 17:46.53. Rounding out the Raiders’ scoring five were freshman Arthur Barrington '29 in 18th (18:49.97) and freshman Daniel Hyde '29, who placed 20th (18:54.39), showcasing the depth and promise of Ransom Everglades’ young core. The team’s top five runners posted an average time of 18:04 with a tight 1:34 spread, a testament to their disciplined pacing and teamwork. Sophomore Auguste Houlle '28 (21st, 18:57.29) and senior Nicholas Juhasz '26 (26th, 19:09.39) also contributed strong efforts just outside the scoring positions. Freshman Gillian Carvalho '29 led the charge for Ransom Everglades, placing fourth overall with an impressive time of 20:28.22, followed closely by fellow freshman Anna Block '29, who finished fifth in 20:31.57. Ninth-grader Ella Griffin '29 crossed the line 10th overall (21:27.23), giving the Raiders three top-10 finishers. Sixth-grader London Ross '32 was impressive with a 15th-place finish (22:05.74), and freshman Becca Haywood '29 sealed the scoring in 19th place (22:36.91). The team’s top five runners averaged 21:25, with a tight 2:08 spread, demonstrating strong depth and discipline throughout the race. Additional strong performances came from Ella Crowley '26 (33rd, 23:32.67) and Victoria Garcia-Pinoc '28 (41st, 24:20.01), who added valuable support to Ransom Everglades’ deep lineup. With their second-place finish, the Raiders earned a berth to the FHSAA Class 1A regional championships, where they’ll look to continue their momentum and challenge for a state meet appearance.

Raiders advance in six events to state championships

The Raiders successfully competed in the class 1A region 4 meet held at Nova Southeastern's Aquatic Center last Friday. The following student athletes advanced to the state championship meet which will be take place on November 8th at the Florida Aquatic Swimming and Training facility in Ocala, Florida. In the 200 medley relay senior Sophia Linfield '26, sophomores Sophie Szutkowski '28 and Eleanor Kriplen '28, and freshman Larissa Rebessi qualified with a time of 1:55.91. The boys 200 medley relay saw seniors Lincoln Broad '26, Jack Merrick '26, and Oliver Friedland '26, and junior Aston Gould '27 qualify with a time of 1:42.41. The girls team of Chloe Jimenez '26, Larissa Rebessi '29, Sophia Sokurec '28, and Eleanor Kriplen '28 qualified in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.44. The girls also qualified for the state championships in the 400 yard freestyle relay led by seniors Chloe Jimenez '26, and Sophia Linfield '26, and sophomores Sophie Szutkowski '28 and Cristina Luca '28 with a time of 3:51.49. The boys team of Lincoln Broad '26, Jack Merrick '26, Jay Holly '26, and Owen Zhao '29 qualified in the 400 yard freestyle with a time of 3:21.82. Rounding out the state qualifiers, senior Lincoln Broad earned the only individual event qualification with a time of 22:20 in the 50 yard freestyle.

The boys' team under Dave Ragan included three of the top four finishers at the Miami Shores Country Club, and the girls' team under Roberta Neves included three of the top five.

Ransom Everglades boys' swimming team won its 12th straight district title at the Florida High School Athletic Association 1A District 12 Championship at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School on October 22 and the girls' team finished in second place as Raider swimmers collected three relay gold medals and seven individual district titles.

Sophie Szutkowski '28 led Ransom Everglades with four gold medals and Sophia Linfield '26 and Eleanor Kriplen '28 each nabbed three. Oliver Friedland '26 and Connor Verbrugge '28 each added a district title in an individual event. The Raiders, who had 24 top-three finishes, train under coach Franz Huggins.

Sophomore defensive back Finn McCarron '28 led the way with two interceptions as the Raider defense extended it's shutout streak to eight quarters with a dominant 35-0 performance over Booker T. Washington High School. Sophomore quarterback Matthew Guavara '28 continued to display grit and toughness with three running touchdowns and a strong performance through the air. Sophomore running back Noah Alce '28 returned from injury with a 25 yard touchdown run and kickers Carlos Lavernia '26 and Alex Martinex '28 made a pair of field goals to round out the scoring. The Raiders will return to the practice on Monday as they begin preparations for their final regular season game and celebrate a terrific senior class in a ceremony prior to kickoff at 6:35 p.m.

A beautiful October afternoon at Granada Golf Course provided wonderful conditions for another exciting day of Raider golf. Ransom was led by freshman Pablo Munoz '29, who carded an incredible 4-under-par 32 to lead the Raiders to a victory over Palmer Trinity. Junior Matthew Puntikov '27 played well finishing with a one under par 35. Seventh grader Anson Dover '31 added to a strong team performance with an even par 36, and senior Reed Gershman '26 rounded out the scoring for Raiders. The Raiders will return to the course this week for one final tune up before post season play begins with the district tournament on Monday, October 27th at Miami Shores Golf Club.

Sophomore Colton Smith '28 exploded for 150 yards on four receptions including two touchdowns as the Raiders put together their most complete performance of the season en route to a 42-0 shutout over University School. Sophomore quarterback Matthew Guevara '28 had his best game through the air going 11-13 for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, the Raiders were all over the field with four sacks, three interceptions and two defensive touchdowns including a scoop and score by senior Jack McCarron '26, and a pick six from senior Enrique Macias '26. The victory moves the Raiders to 4-4 on the year and in prime position to make a run at a regional playoff spot.

Junior Sarah Wals '27 added seven kills from the front row in a strong performance. Freshman Nalah Pichetti '29 added a team high 22 assists and freshman Lola Pichetti '29 chipped in 15 digs in the victory. The Raiders will now head to Gulliver this afternoon for an opportunity to win a district title. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Freshman Esha Nagalla '29 and sophomore Ella Wester '28 continued there spectacular play with even par rounds of 36 as the Raiders continued their winning ways in a three team match against LaSalle and Florida Christian. Junior Lillian Liu '27 played well firing a one over par round of 37 and sophomore Kiran Suri '28 rounded out the scoring for the Raiders. The team will now turn their attention to the Pink Girls Invite next week before postseason play begins. Congratulations to all players and coaches.
