Raider volleyball closes out regular season with victory

Senior Alexander Sargi '25 led the way with 20 assists, 14 kills, and three aces as the Raiders rolled to a three set victory over Greater Miami Academy to close out the regular season. It was a special night as the Raiders celebrated Sargi, the lone senior on the team in his final home game. Junior Tariq Maduro '26 and sophomore Shai Waizbrot '27 had strong performances combining for 30 kills, 22 digs, and six aces in the victory. The Raiders will now turn their attention to the post season earning the #2 seed in the district tournament. A semifinal matchup with Mater Academy Bay awaits the Raiders on Tuesday, April 29th hosted at Killian High School. First serve is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.

Six Raiders scored individual titles at the track and field district meet

Six Raiders – including two eighth graders – won individual track and field district titles at the Florida High School Athletic Association 2A District 15 championships. Gillian Carvalho '29 finished first in the 400 meters in 56.19 seconds, Ella Griffin '29 won the 3,200 in 12 minutes, 13.16 seconds, Harrison Lamnin '25 claimed the discus title with a throw of 34.21 meters, Nelson Manstein '26 finished first in the 800 in 1:58.55, Latrice Nelson '25 claimed the 800 title in 1:58.55) and Lucas Schleifer '26 won the pole vault with a jump of 2.85 meters.

Raider crew earns strong finish at the FSRA Sculling State Championships

RE Crew raced at the FSRA Sculling State Championships in Sarasota over the weekend of April 12-13. The Boys squad fielded five crews consisting of freshman, junior and varsity doubles as well as 1st and 2nd Varsity Quads while the girls fielded four Crews which inclujded juniors and lightweight doubles as well as 1st and 2nd varsity quads. For their collective efforts, our rowers brought home the highest sculling points total in program history (135) - good for 4th place scholastically in Florida. Junior Sydney Schimel '26 and senior Leah Vela '25 led the girls team with strong performances in their heats to advance directly to the A-Final and place 2nd scholastically and 7th overall in the state. On the boys side sophomores Mateo Delgado ‘27 and Mak Owens ‘27 performed well in the most subscribed event of the weekend which saw them race out of the semi-finals into the A-Finals to place 5th overall out of 29 crews and take home the title of Boys Junior Double ‘25 Scholastic State Champions. Having focused on sweep rowing most of this year, RE Crew looks forward to racing with their coxswains once again and making even bigger waves at the ‘25 FSRA Sweep Championships the weekend of April 26-27 back in Sarasota.

Raider boys and girls water polo advance to regional finals in thrilling victories

Both water polo programs came up big when they needed it most in one goal semifinal victories in the class 1A regional tournament held at Gulliver Prep. In the girls game, the Raiders found themselves trailing to MAST Academy 10-6 before a furious second half rally led by senior Sydney Gould '25 and freshman Elanor Kriplen '28. The boys game saw Belen Jesuit erase a seven goal deficit before a five meter penalty in overtime allowed junior Jack Merrick '26 to send the Raiders on to the regional final and one game away from the state final four. Both teams will look to earn a regional title this afternoon as they face off against a pair of #1 seeds. The boys will play game one of the doubleheader at 3:30 p.m. followed by the girls at 5:00 p.m. on the campus of Gulliver Prep.

Raider baseball advances to district semifinal

Junior Tino Peña '26 was dominant on the hill, as the right-handed pitcher rang up 10 strikeouts in a 13-0 Raider victory over Riviera Prep in district quarterfinal action. Peña gave up zero hits and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings while walking one. Offensively, the Raiders were led by freshman Teddy Wagner '28 and sophomore Tyler Grossfeld '27 as each drove in three runs and collected two hits in the victory. Junior Juan Velazco '26 and senior Justin Kaplan '25 added two stolen bases as the Raiders rolled to a dominant victory. The Raiders will now turn their attention to the top seeded True North Titans in a district semifinal this afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

Girls' water polo wins 18th district title in 19 years

Ransom Everglades girls' water polo earned its 18th district title in 19 years with a resounding 20-2 defeat of Coral Gables High at the Ansin Aquatic Center on April 10. Eleanor Kriplen '28 led with five goals; Sydney Gould '25 and Ellie Stokes '26 scored three each; and Casey Manno '25 tallied seven assists and three steals. Ten Raiders scored at least once to help the Raiders get back on the district title track after a narrow defeat to MAST Academy in 2024 ended their 17-year streak.

Raiders advance to SFBC final
4/10/2025
Freshman Jorge Gross '28 led the way with a pair of hits including a homerun to right field and a double as the Raiders rolled to a 12-2 victory over Somerset Silver Palms in the South Florida Baseball Conference semifinal. Sophomore Tyler Grossfield '27 got the Raiders off to a great start in the first inning driving in a run on a single down the line. Senior Justin Kaplan '25, and juniors Enrique Macias '26 and Juan Velazco '26 each collected two hits in the victory. Junior Jacob Rubinstein '26 earned the win for the Raiders allowing four hits and two runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Senior Noah Martin '25 threw one inning of zero-run ball for the Raiders in relief. The Raider will get back to the practice field today as they gear up for the conference title game on Friday night against Marathon. That game will be played at Miami Country Day at 7:00 p.m.

Ransom Everglades Varsity Raiders collected nine hits in the game. Gross led Ransom Everglades Varsity Raiders with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The left fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Justin Kaplan, Enrique Macias, Velazco, and Gross each collected two hits for Ransom Everglades Varsity Raiders. Ransom Everglades Varsity Raiders had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Rubinstein, Teddy Wagner, and Nicolas Motoki led the team with two free passes each. Grossfeld stole two bases.

Junior Tariq Maduro '26 led the way with 13 kills, 10 digs, and three blocks as the Raiders earned a four set road victory over Homestead Senior High School. Senior Alexander Sargi '25 added a season high twenty assists and sophomore Shai Waizbrot '27 had a strong all around game with 14 digs, six kills, and three aces in the victory. The Raiders overcame a sloppy first set before finding their footing in set two to tie things up at one a piece. From there the Raiders played their best two sets of the season to earn the victory. The team will look to make it two in a row as they host Hialeah Gardens High School this afternoon. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Junior Bea De Lima '26 scored seven goals and added four assists as the Raiders rolled to a 20-6 victory over Gulliver Prep in district quarterfinal competition. In addition to the victory, it was a special night for De Lima as she reached an historic milestone with her 100th career goal. Juniors Abby Pollak '26 and Dylan Berkowitz '26 combined for 7 goals in the victory. The Raiders also received strong perfomances from junior Alicia Medina '26 and sophomore Chloe Zaldivar '27 to round of the scoring. The Raiders will now turn their attention to Palmer Trinity as they prepare for a district semifinal on the road this Friday afternoon. First draw is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

Four soccer players win all-dade first-team recognition

Four members of Ransom Everglades' district champion girls' soccer team won first-team all-county recognition from the Miami Herald as Stella Colombo '26 and coach Antonio Boada were named girls' soccer player and coach of the year, respectively. Colombo, Johanna James '26, Casey Manno '25 and Olivia Geller '26 received the first-team honors, capping an impressive season for the Raiders, who advanced to the state semifinals.

Raiders pick up road win over Palmetto

Junior Elijah Ponce '26 came up big for the Raiders with a season high six goals, and two assists in a 13-5 road victory over Palmetto High School. The victory earned the Raiders their tenth win of the season and control of the #2 seed in districts. Senior Reid Rosenberg '25 added three goals, and sophomore Winston Hosford '27 scored twice. Junior Wes Barnett '26, and sophomore Hunter White '27 rounded out the scoring for the Raider offense. Sophomore Leo Porcelli '26 continued his strong season in the face off circle winning 21 of 22 opportunities. Junior goalie Jackson Crowley '26 picked up the victory stopping ten shots. The Raiders will head back to the practice field today as they prepare to close out the regular season and celebrate senior night on Saturday April 5th at 4:00 p.m. at Robert E. Walker Field.

Raider girls lacrosse earns victory on senior night

Juniors Bea De Lima '26, Abby Pollak '26, and freshman Cici Cisneros '28 had four goals a piece as the Raiders rolled to a 17-4 victory over Coral Reef on senior night at Robert E. Walker Field. Sophomore Phia Ranawat '27 and juniors Chloe Zaldivar '26 and Alicia Medina '26 continued their strong play with two goals each and sophomore Ella Crowley '27 added a goal to round out the scoring for the Raiders. Senior Rebecca Paresky '25 provided three assists in her first game back from injury making sure her senior night was one to remember. The Raiders also celebrated senior goalie Sofia Martin '25 and senior midfielder Jordan James '25 thanking them for their contributions to the program. The Raiders will now head into spring break before preparing for the final stretch of the regular season and post season.

Raider flag football remains perfect with 38-7 victory

Senior Didi Carvalho '25 scored twice and intercepted two passes on the defensive end to lead the Raiders to a resounding 38-7 victory over RASG Academy to move to 6-0 on the season. Senior Lindsay Ng '25 added two touchdown scores of her own and freshman quarterback Penelope Gavin '28 continued her impressive play leading the Raider offense to thirty eight points. Defensively, Lila Chang '28 was in the backfield all afternoon totaling four sacks and disrupting the Warrior offense. The team will head into spring break in prime position to earn a regional playoff berth as they enter the second half of the season.

Junior Jacob Rubinstein '26 led the way with a dominant performance on the mound in a 13-1 victory over Somerset Academy Silver Palms. The righty surrendered five hits and one run over five innings, striking out six. Junior Juan Velazco '26 opened the scoring for the Raiders with a solo shot to left field to start a five run fourth inning which included a pair of RBI's by junior Enrique Macias '27 and senior Justin Kaplan '25. The Raiders would roll from there accumulating 13 hits in the game. Senior Mason Lastra '25 continued his impressive senior season with two hits and two stolen bases. The victory moves the team to 10-4 on the year. The Raiders will have a quick turnaround as they host Rivera Prep this evening for senior night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Sophomore Hunter White '27 added two goals, and junior Wes Barnett '26 set up his teammates all afternoon with a game high four assists. Sophomore Leo Porcelli '27 was excellent in the face off circle winning seventy five percent of the draws. Junior goalie Jackson Crowley '26 picked up the victory in the net with eight saves including crucial stops in the second half. The victory moves the team to 8-4 on the season as they head north for a Tuesday night showdown against Kings Academy. First draw is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The Raiders earned a third place finish at the Stefano Forzano tournament winning three of four games with victories over Dr. Krop, MAST, and Dr. Phillips highs schools. Freshman Eleanor Kriplen '28 and junior Lucy Hansen '26 led the way for the Raider offense throughout the tournament. Senior goalie Casey Manno '25 had a great tournament highlighted by her eight blocks in a victory over MAST to secure third place in the event. Senior Mason Lastra '25 hit two home runs and drove in a career high eight RBI's as the Raiders defeated Miami Country Day 14-6 in a road contest. A seven run fourth inning would open the game up for the Raiders. Senior Justin Kaplan '25 and junior Enrique Macias '26 opened the inning with a pair of singles. A Raider walk loaded the bases for Lastra who made it count with a grand slam for his second home run of the game. Freshman Tyler Grossfeld '28 would add a solo shot to left field to cap a seven run inning. Junior Tino Peña '26 continued his strong junior season on the mound earning the victory striking out seven batters over four and one-third innings of work. The victory moved the Raiders to 8-3 on the season. A quick turnaround awaits as the Raiders host Palmer Trinity in a special event at Loan Depot Park this afternoon. In a loaded field for boys palm league lacrosse, the Raiders picked up two hard fought wins over Miami Country Day and Pinecrest earning a top five finish in the mid season tournament held at Oxbridge Academy. Junior Elijah Ponce '26 combined for four goals and three assists, and senior Reid Rosenberg '25 came up clutch against Pinecrest with two goals and two assistars in a hard fought 8-7 victory. Other offensive standouts included freshman Liam Segal '28 who added two goals and four assists, and junior Wes Barnett '26 scored twice. Junior Jackson Crowley '26 had a huge tournament with 30 saves over three games including mutliple fourth quarter stops against Pinecrest. The Raiders (5-2) will now turn their attention to University School tomorrow night at Robert E. Walker Field. First draw is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
