Raiders REtain the Oar in 28-0 shutout over Palmer Trinity

Sophomore quarterback Matthew Guavara '28 led the way throwing for 165 yards including two touchdown passes as the Raiders rolled to a 28-0 victory over Palmer Trinity in the annual Battle For the Oar game in front of a packed house at Robert E. Walker Field. Sophomore wide receiver Colton Smith '28 caught four balls for 85 yards and junior Tyler Grossfield '27 hauled in a 65 yard pass for his first touchdown of the season. Senior Charlie Holleman '26 rounded out the scoring for the Raiders with a receiving touchdown of his own late in the fourth quarter. Defensively, the Raiders continued their strong play with a second shutout in four games. Seniors Jack McCarron '26 and Edwin Carr '26 anchored the defense up front holding the Falcons to 93 total yards. The Raiders (2-2) will look to pick up their third victory of the season when they host Westminster Christian Friday night for homecoming in front of what will be a terrific crowd. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
