RE's football team returned to practice at Walker Field on Oct. 5 after a monumental restoration effort in the wake of Hurricane Irma. The Raiders will continue practices on the partially revitalized turf while playing their games at the Middle School. Follow this link to watch a short video that illustrates the amazing transformation of the field in the weeks after Irma hit.
The restored field will accommodate football, soccer and lacrosse practices, but because about 30 yards of turf nearest the bay were irreparably damaged, the entire surface will need to be replaced before RE's teams can use the field for home games.
Don't miss the next chance to see Raider football in action at the Middle School; they play the Homecoming and Senior Recognition Game at 4 p.m. on Oct. 13. A fan bus will shuttle students from the Upper School. Students are also encouraged to take in the girls' volleyball Smoothie King Invitational that afternoon and evening at the Anderson gymnasium.
