Digital Podium: Miami in 1980

Nicholas Griffin P’25 ’27 and Maurice Ferré ’79, P’10 ’13 will join Head of School Penny Townsend for at 7 p.m. on October 28 for the first Paul Ransom Digital Podium of 2020-21; we expect a lively conversation about a formative period in South Florida's history: Miami in 1980. Maurice observed this wild year from a unique vantage point – as the mayor’s son – and Nick chronicled the time in his critically acclaimed book, The Year of Dangerous Days: Riots, Refugees, and Cocaine in Miami 1980. During this inaugural Paul Ransom Digital Podium of 2020-21, Nick and Maurice will trade tales, consider how 1980 shaped the Magic City of today, and take questions.
