2017 Hall of Fame inductees honored
Ransom Everglades inducted five athletes and one coach into its Athletic Hall of Fame on April 27. Joshua Greenwald ’87 (swimming and water polo); Mark Ingraham '91 (sailing); Jessica Greenwald Ladin ’93 (swimming and water polo); Gordon D. Myers ’92 (football, soccer and track); Daniel Tamayo '97 (baseball); and coach Owen Paris enjoyed an evening of revelry, reflection and story-telling with family, current and former coaches, friends and RE administrators.
David Clark ’86, a 2001 Hall of Fame inductee in three sports, introduced Myers and Paris. Julie Greenwald Friedland ’91, a 2015 Hall of Famer in water polo and swimming, introduced siblings Joshua and Jessica. RE Sailing Coach Joseph Logan III introduced Ingraham, whom he trained as a youngster at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club; and Fernando Tamayo ’99 introduced his cousin and former teammate Daniel.
Interim Athletic Director Andy DeAngulo opened the event, which kicked off the 2017 Alumni Weekend festivities. Joshua Greenwald summed up the sentiments of all of the inductees.
“I feel like I’m the one who should be honoring Ransom instead of being honored myself,” he said. “I always felt it was such a privilege to be there at Ransom.”

Founded in 1903, Ransom Everglades School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school for grades 6 - 12 located on two campuses in Coconut Grove, Florida.
