Algebra 1 Essentials includes a review of the fundamentals of algebra, covering topics that utilize the mechanics of algebra in order to develop and hone problem-solving skills. Real-life applications are stressed whenever possible. These problem-solving skills play a vital role not only in future math courses, but also in all subject areas. The topics include solving equations and inequalities, word-problem applications, polynomials, factoring, functions and graphs, linear systems, quadratics, radicals, and rational expressions. Students practice solving different types of mathematics problems and hone the skills needed for success in future math courses.
