Photography: An Introduction to Photography

Grade level: rising 9-12

Lunch is not provided; students may bring their own 100% nut- and seed-free snack or lunch to eat after camp ends. They will not be permitted to leave campus to get lunch in Coconut Grove. 
 
This course is designed for any student who has always wanted to learn more about photography but has not had the opportunity to take a formal class. In a weeklong exciting dive into everything photographic you will learn how to create and capture images with a digital SLR camera, how to use studio lighting, and how to take those photographs and edit them using the latest Adobe photographic software. Class time is designed to give students hands-on experience with professional-level equipment and techniques. At the end of the course, students will take home photographic prints of their favorite images created during the course and learn how to edit and curate a portfolio of their own work.
