Spanish Readiness (grades 7-10)

Ransom Campus

In a conversation-based setting that includes daily homework, the course focuses on skills of the Novice High/ Intermediate Low level of proficiency such as: requesting and providing information on familiar everyday topics by using a variety of simple and correct sentences in the present tense; expressing and reacting briefly to preferences, feelings, or opinions on familiar topics; presenting information about home and school life; and identifying main ideas and key facts in short informational texts and conversations. Especially important for this level is the desire and ability to make oneself understood in Spanish to a sympathetic listener, without defaulting consistently to English.

This course is for enrichment and skill-building; completion of this course will not confer RE credit.
