St. Alban’s Day

St. Alban's Day has been a tradition at Ransom Everglades for over 31 years. On this day in December, students and faculty transform both the upper and middle school campuses into winter wonderlands in order to host children from St. Alban's Child Enrichment Center for a fun-filled day of holiday celebration.

This year, RE adapted to keep the tradition alive. Ransom Everglades sophomores worked to ensure the continuation of the St. Alban's Day tradition, even if didn't look quite like the massive holiday carnival students and alumni have come to treasure. Each sophomore advisory adopted a class at St. Alban's Child Enrichment Center in Coconut Grove, developing two activities to be dropped off and executed by the teachers, and providing two books for story time. RE sophomores also assembled school backpacks with books, preschool supplies, hygienic items and a stuffed animal for each child. Student Government Association representatives helped by creating an interactive video for the young students. On December 3, a few RE students along with faculty member Jenny Gragg Carson '03 decorated St. Alban's classrooms after school. The St. Alban's Day activities took place the next day after a catered breakfast for the center's teachers, which the Class of 2023 provided.
