Florida Grand Opera members turned Swenson Hall into a musical classroom on Feb. 25, performing arias in German, English, Italian and French and explaining the music between songs. The "studio artist informance" for RE's middle schoolers was a multi-cultural event organized by the World Languages Department.
Tenor Nicholas Huff, mezzo-soprano Stephany Peña, baritone Michael Miller and soprano Shaina Martinez each performed pieces from a range of composers including Bizet, Strauss, Puccini, Rossini and Bernstein. Justin Moss, the opera's director of Broward operations and outreach, provided the context and explainers between performances. Jared Peroune accompanied on piano.
