Middle School Crew Shines at Miami International Regatta

The Middle School Crew Team competed in the Miami International Regatta, the last regatta of the Spring 2019 campaign and the culmination of a full year’s worth of commitment and work.

RE Crew Competitive Highlights include:
Girls Middle School Eight (8+) = 1st place / Gold Medal Overall
Composed of coxswain Ella Lombardo, stroke Malena Tewari, Veronica Kerr, Isa Leiser, Kathryn Serra, Gabby martinez, Mae Signorello, Ysa Jadotte, Sofia Wolf, this crew dealt with a re-start of the race and then moved into the lead immediately and never looked back. It’s been quite a number of years since RE Crew has been able to field a middle school girls 8+, and this crew did not disappoint as it lived up to all expectations with a terrific victory over rival Miami Rowing Club. With a large portion of this crew coming up to upper school next year, the future looks very bright for RE Girls Crew.

Mixed Middle School Eight (8+) = 1st Place / Gold Medal Overall
Composed of coxswain Camille Lugo, stroke Thomas Segrera, Veronica Kerr, Malena Tewari, Santi Sauceda, Isa leiser, Ryan Berkshire, Colin Ehrling, Mae Signorello. Coming up just one boy short for a middle school boys 8+, the team’s top 4 boy rowers joined forces with the top 4 girls and raced this mixed 8+ to a dominant victory again over rival Miami Rowing Club. Again, with a strong core of 8th grade boys rising to the upper school team next year, the boys core looks to make more waves for RE Boys Crew in the future.
