Varsity Crew Captures 2019 USRowing Southeast Championship

The Boys' Varsity Quad of stroke Andres Segrera ‘18, Aston Craft ‘20, Jackson Bryan ‘20, and bow Will Mathes ‘19 were victorious in the 2019 USRowing Southeast Championships having led the race until 300 meters to go when rival, The Bolles School Crew took a slight lead to which RE responded in the last strokes to secure the win by .15 of a second in 6:31.7. The win is the team's first ever Southeast Championship in a qualifier event and earns them an invite to the 2019 USRowing Youth Nationals in June in Sarasota, FL. This crew will compete next weekend at the prestigious Stotesbury Cup Regatta in Philadelphia, where they will vie for the Scholastic National Championship.
